About Me

A bit about my background

I was raised and educated in England and Portugal and have a love of culture and languages.   My passion for psychology was sparked during my translation work for Street Projects in Brazil.   This led me to complete an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy.  I am dedicated to Wellbeing, and emotional /psychological health and have worked in NHS services (IAPT and Secondary Care), Higher Education and Charitable sectors.   I have specialist training in Online Counselling and have completed shorter courses to include CBT, Mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing.    I recently undertook further training in Counselling for Depression.

Therapy Approach

As an Integrative therapist, I draw on a range of approaches depending  on what works best for you.   This might include integrating strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy when working with anxiety or panic.  The use of Gestalt to explore emotional wellbeing or Attachment and Psychodynamic approaches to  understand how relationships/ patterns of the past impact on behaviour  in the here-and-now.   Sessions may involve looking back at your personal history to enable future choices; making sense of or processing  deep rooted emotions; support to develop relationship/communication  skills to improve connections in the here-and-now; or offer more goal  orientated strategies such as anxiety management, working with panic to  establish/restore a sense of calm/safety in your life.

Accreditation & Registration

I am accredited and registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am a member of the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online.  I am fully insured and work to UK legislation.

Online Counselling

I completed specialist training in online therapy with The Online Therapy Institute (OTI) and I am a Certfified Cyber Therapist.  This includes email, chat messaging (real-time), audio or video.   This is via an  encrypted platform which ensures confidentiality.

Integrative psychotherapy is a collaborative process. It relies on the building of a trusted therapeutic relationship.  This helps establish a safe and supportive place to explore challenges, hopes, fears and work towards chosen goals.

Creative Therapies

In addition, I am qualified to provide therapy using the arts in therapy and education.   This may include, exploring the future, rehearsing the possible  using sandtray, imagery, metaphor or body/movement.

I am unable to  provide crisis services and recommend that anyone needing immediate  support contact the Samaritans, GP or local A&E.
